I am Simon Severino 👋

I am in love. With reading, with business strategy, with Franziska, with my 3 kids, with investing. I own Strategy Sprints which accelerates sales for entrepreneurs in finance, consulting and technology.

On this page I share what I am reading and writing, to both clarify my thinking and find the others. Find me on X, Linkedin, Youtube.

READING

I love reading Seneca, Cicero, Epictetus, Hemingway, Steinbeck. Right now I am reading these. A side effect of loving to read, eventually I started writing. "Strategy Sprints" is available in English, Chinese and Russian. "Time Freedom" is coming out soon. I also write about Sales Acceleration and Investing. Below the 25 books I read again and again every few years.

BUSINESS STRATEGY

I love buyer psychology and pricing power. Entrepreneurs talk to me about landing better deals, at the prices they want. I coach privately, and run also a weekly mastermind called the 200K Club. In weekly sessions,  help them optimize each part of the Go-To-Market Strategy:

Lately I became Jarvis to them, as they can access me 24/7 on their phone via our own app. After two decades of sales acceleration, we had to learn how to keep money. Which started the next love affair.

INVESTING

If investing was about numbers all accountants would be billionaires. It is about understanding the future economics of one particular business. And it is about sizing your bets in a risk-adjusted way. Rumi wrote: "Maybe you are searching among the branches, for what only appears in the roots" (Masnavi IV, 1724).

I fell in love with investing when I realised it is the ultimate intellectual adventure. You get to practice your curiosity, discernment, creativity, judgement, temperament, reasoning while getting immediate, objective feedback. Oh and you don't need committees. Just time to read and think.

So far I have learned to achieve a 16% CAGR over a decade, which is lovely as it doubles capital every 4.5 years. I share my valuations here  and all portfolio moves live in the Sprint Club.
