Her Client Went Quiet for 5 Days. Her Gut Said Fix the Price. Her AI Sales Coach Said Fix the Trust.
You closed the deal. You celebrated. You sent the link to book, certain the hard part was over.
Then the days went by.
One. Two. Three. By day five, the silence isn't neutral anymore — it starts to feel like an answer. You refresh your inbox one more time, feel that small drop in your stomach when it's still empty, and decide to force the issue. So you do what almost every business owner does when a client goes quiet: you invent urgency. You send an email with a deadline you made up on the spot, because you can't stand not knowing, and you'd rather force a no than keep sitting in the maybe.
That's exactly what happened to Johanna Farrimond. Except Johanna isn't a salesperson. She's a Tongren practitioner — a form of energy healing. "Sales is completely foreign to me," she says. Her story is worth reading closely, because if this fix worked for someone whose entire profession is the opposite of selling, it will work for you. (Johanna tells the full story in her own words here.)
The deal that went quiet
A new client had booked a free assessment session for Johanna's bioelectric reset protocol — a $1,300 package. In the room, the client said yes. Johanna celebrated. She sent the booking link.
Then nothing. Five days of nothing.
"I thought, well, I'd better follow up or just lose this potential paying client," Johanna says. So she sent an email with a manufactured deadline — written on a Wednesday, telling the client to secure her spot by Friday. Friday didn't mean anything. "I just wanted an answer. I'd already celebrated, and then determined that I'd probably lost the sale anyway, and I just wanted the pain to stop."
The client wrote back questioning the price. Johanna had treated her for a couple of individual sessions a year earlier, at a much lower price point, and now she was staring at an email that felt like a negotiation she didn't know how to win. She was ready to explain — the difference between one-off sessions and the full protocol, why the package cost what it cost — but every version of that explanation in her head sounded like she was talking herself into a discount.
So instead of guessing, she opened her Sales Coach — a Strategy Sprints skill built into Claude that reads the actual situation in front of you and coaches the next move. She described what happened and pasted in the client's email. Then she asked: how do I respond to this?
The diagnosis she didn't expect
She had read the email as a question about price. The Sales Coach read the same email and landed somewhere else entirely: on trust. The client had already extended Johanna trust once, in an earlier relationship at a lower price point — and the manufactured Friday deadline was the first thing to put a crack in it, not protect it. So the fix wasn't a sharper justification for $1,300. It was dropping the deadline and answering in a few honest sentences, instead of defending a price difference nobody had actually challenged — the opposite of everything a negotiation is supposed to require.
Johanna's gut told her something else entirely. She followed the coaching anyway. She wrote back, told the client she'd been overly anxious, and dropped the artificial Friday deadline.
A few weeks later, the client booked — a clean yes, nothing forced.
"I definitely would have lost this client without it," Johanna says. "That was a big, big win for me."
What changed for Johanna wasn't a script. It was catching, in real time, that the problem she'd diagnosed and the problem that actually existed weren't the same one. That's the same distinction at the center of the 8 Steps of the Repeatable Sale we teach every client: rapport and trust come first, and nothing else works until that's intact. "Rather than trusting my own gut and my own interpretation," she says, "I will be using the sales coach more and more" — not for this one client, but as a standing habit before every reply that matters. "Having that added benefit of not second-guessing my own choices, knowing that I've made the best sales decision that I could have possibly made with every client interaction."
You don't need to be a salesperson either
If you've ever sent a deadline you made up because the silence was unbearable, you already know the moment Johanna was in. You don't need sales training to get out of it. You need something in the room that can see the deal for what it actually is — before you hit send on the email that leaves a bitter aftertaste no discount can fix.
That's what the Sales Coach did for an energy healer with zero sales background, on a $1,300 deal. The same read applies whether the number in play is four figures or six. On a discovery call, we'll show you the same coaching against a real deal you're working right now — no pitch, just the diagnosis. https://www.strategysprints.com
